Concept design

Projects can be delivered with different levels of detail. A concept design is often referred to as a “concept”. For this particular project, a concept design was developed. You can see an example of such a package in the video below. It includes the key drawings needed to understand the interior design, visualisations, and a selection of the main materials, furniture, etc. This is the booklet (sometimes called the “volume”) that the client receives as a result of the design work.

Project concept

Utopie is a multibrand store that also offers clothing and footwear repair and tailoring, concierge services, and a restaurant. The project was developed for an abstract space — the premises had not yet been secured, but it was already necessary to attract investment.

Space-planning solutions

You can enter the space either through the restaurant or through the main entrance via the exhibition area. The layout is axial. At the centre of the composition there is a volume containing the cash desks and concierge service; this axis is supported by a central line of display units and lounge seating.

Materials and furniture

Natural materials were used in the interior. The floor is finished with sandstone flagstone; natural stone is used for the display units, as well as natural wood veneer and brass. In the restaurant, the tables and lighting are made of travertine.

Repair, personalisation and tailoring

Next to the fitting rooms there is a workshop where customers can personalise the items purchased here or have them repaired. The workshop is connected to the main sales area by a large horizontal window.

Restaurant

The restaurant has its own entrance from the street, but it can also be accessed from the exhibition space. It is separated by sliding partitions, so it can be combined with the retail area for events.
